Recent updates

  • July 2026: Manish's paper entitled "Shake table study of Friction Pendulum bearings with PTFE composite sliding surface" was published in the 13th National Conference on Earthquake Engineering organized by Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI). Introduction of sliding bearings reduced peak input accelerations by 75%. The bearings were manufactured by Harsha Engineers International Ltd. The research was led by IIT Kanpur team.
  • June 2026: Priya, Krishnaveni and Anagha graduated with an MTech degree during the 15th convocation. Priya and Krishna work with Walter P. Moore, and Anagha is working with Spectrum. Shaivi (advisor: Dr. Siva Chopperla) also graduated during the convocation. She is set to join LERA. Sampreeth and Rishabh worked to develop a shaking table, and a table top CTM. They are set to join UHPC India and Larsen and Toubro, respectively.
  • April 2026: Chaman's paper entitled "In-process reinforcement method for 3D-printed concrete layers" is published in the Automation in Construction journal. It presents a printhead that enables automated in-proces reinforcement of concrete layers being printed.
  • February 2026: Manish completed a consulting project entitled "Condition assessment of Pier 2 of Bridge No. 53 (3rd Line) in Kharagpur Division of South-Eastern Railway" sponsored by Rail Vikas Nigam Limited. Drs. K Siva Teja Chopperla and Nirmalya Bandopadhyay were part of the team.
